Hi All!

Just to say a huge thank you for all your kind comments after seeing us on BBC Three's Don't Tell the Bride last night!  We were delighted with the coverage and loved being a part of the show.  Congratulations to Charles and Lauren!  Charles... you did really well!

Thanks also to those of you who stopped at our stall on Sunday at the Hancock Museum Wedding Fair.  We're already receiving your enquiries and look forward to creating your wedding cakes soon!

Hello everyone!

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while!  Its been hectic here at For Goodness Cakes with the wedding season in full swing our kitchen has never stopped with wedding cakes and cupcakes!  Thank you all for the fantastic feedback about our cakes which just keeps coming in! 

For all you new customers whom we have recently met at consultation, as promised the dates are now on our events page for the upcoming wedding fairs which we will be attending where we will be showcasing some new designs and offering you cake samples of our yummy cake flavours! So come along for a chat and of course a nibble of cake!

A great turn out again for Sunday's wedding fayre at Newcastle Civic Centre where we, For Goodness Cakes, had a very busy stand indeed!  Thanks again to all the brides, grooms and mums who stopped to chat about your wedding cake ideas and sample our new moist chocolate cake recipe! You gave great feedback!  Especially the the sneaky ones who came back for more!  Lots of you have already been in touch to arrange consultations so thanks again and speak to you soon!

Last week was a busy week for me here at For Goodness Cakes having agreed to sponsor a corporate event being held at Newcastle University called Webdurance.  All in the name of charity, Webdurance was a 24 hour website build, where 36 web programmers, designers and writers were basically locked up in a room from 12noon, working through the night with the task of creating brand-new websites for 6 regional charities http://webdurance.ning.com/

The novelty cake that For Goodness Cakes donated was a robot design based on the Webdurance logo.  Dare I say upon dropping the cake off in the morning the room didn't smell as bad as I thought it might!  Some fab websites built and well done to all those volunteers! Same time next year!

This week I have been baking like mad after being invited by AM Modeling Agency to exhibit some work and provide some sweet nibbles for their upcoming Ladies Night on Wed (16th June) to be held at As You Like It bar in Jesmond from 7pm.  They have arranged live music, fashion shows and various stalls exhibiting including us For Goodness Cakes!  So lots of cupcakes to be baked of which I made a start today, chocolate heaven cupcakes, lemon sparkle cupcakes, coconut cupcakes and lots more along including some cutely decorated cookies too for all those party ladies!

Another successful wedding fayre!  Thanks to all who stopped at my stall yesterday at the Copthorne Hotel's Wedding Fayre in Newcastle and I look forward to seeing you again. Thanks too to the organisers for a great turn out.  An enjoyable busy day... and thank you for your comments on my new wedding cake designs such as the blue three tier wedding cake with blossoms which was a little bit different but went down really well! Look out for pictures of that coming soon to the website!

Hi all,

Hope everyone had a nice long bank holiday weekend! Busy one for me, this weeks order was a 1950's Bentley celebration cake which was an excellent challenge as I certainly hadn't done one of those before! 

As always, I wanted to keep as much edible as possible so with a little planning and patience... Hey presto not a silver wire or flower paste in sight!  Have a look and see what you think...

Welcome to my new blog page!  I've introduced this blog as a way of keeping you updated and letting you know whats new here at For Goodness Cakes.. Perhaps even for posting a few new ideas, recipes and tips not just for wedding cakes and celebration cakes but for anyone out there who loves baking and being creative! So watch this space!
